Holtek Releases New 3W Class-D Audio Amplifiers
New HT82V7524 and HT82V7534 Provide Efficiency up to 90% and Low Distortion
Holtek have released two new Class-D Amplifiers, the HT82V7524 and HT82V7534. Compared to Class A and Class B Amplifiers, these new Class D amplifiers provide much high efficiency, allowing the units to provide higher output power, without the need for large heatsinks. Efficiency of up to 90% are achieved with these amplifiers, combined with low distortion and high noise immunity. The units have an operating temperature of -40°C to +85°C and are rated for industrial specifications. The amplifiers are suitable for use in a wide range of consumer audio products, such as tablets, mobile phones, bluetooth speakers, electronic dictionaries and toys.

The HT82V7524 is a mono Class D Amplifier and is available in a 8-pin SOP-EP package with a pin arrangement compatible with other manufacturer’s devices. The HT82V7534 is a stereo Class D Amplifier, available in a 20 pin TSSOP-EP package for SMD mounting. Each part can deliver up to 3W into a 4 ohm load with an operating voltage of 5V. The amplifiers can work down to a minimum or 1.8V, making them ideal for use in low power applications. Each unit comes with a number of useful features, including silent turn-on and turn-off, avoiding the common "pop" sound when the amplifier is initially energized. Various protection features are included, with over current protection, over temperature protection, short circuit protection as well as automatic output power control, to avoid over driving the amplifier. The amplifiers also include anti-clipping distortion.
