Silicon Chip March 2012
The March issue of Silicon Chip Electronics Magazine is loaded with useful articles and projects for the electronics hobbyist.
This month's articles look at the idea of Vertical Farms, using new LED illumination technology the
production of food can now be done economically using LED illumination in a very compact area. These vertical farms are
already producing a wide range of plants with a much reduced growing time over conventional greenhouse and standard farming methods.
Also this month, some answers to readers questions about the MPPT (Maximimum Power Point Tracking) Solar Charge Controller and also
a review of the new APx525 Precision Audio Analyser.
This month's projects include a new Ultra Low-Distortion 135W Stereo Amplifier, this unit delivers remarkable performance and can be used as a main amplifier for a home entertainment system or similar. This unit incorporates the power amplifier modules described previously in Silicon Chip, as well as a pre-amplifier, loudspeaker protection and stereo input board. The unit is housed in a professional case and looks great. Also this month, an updated design for the 12/24V MPPT Solar Charge Controller, this revision features improved efficiency and new charging options, the unit will deliver optimum power from your solar panels to lead-acid batteries. Finally this month, the second part of the SemTest, Semiconductor Test set and an easy to build Interplanetary Sound Effects unit. All projects come complete with circuit diagram and electronic parts list.
